Bryn Terfel in Concert at Cape Town Opera

Opera lovers are in for a special treat this summer as the stunning Artscape Opera House in Cape Town plays host to an array of today’s leading operatic talents. First up is Welsh performer Bryn Terfel, an opera and concert bass‐baritone with an impressive list of accolades including a Grammy, CBE, and the Queen’s Medal for Music to his name.

Backed by the award‐winning ensemble Cape Town Opera Chorus and the 70‐member Wales Millennium Centre Only Kids Aloud Chorus, Bryn Terfel will perform The Spirit of Unity, a recently commissioned work by Dr. Paul Mealor celebrating the end of apartheid and showcasing the strong choral traditions of Wales and South Africa. With over 120 voices on stage, this promises to be a unique evening perfectly suited to the occasion of the Cape Town Opera’s 15th anniversary.
