Young Euro Classic: European Union Youth Orchestra (EU)

About the Event

The concert to remember for days to come awaits you at Berlin's Konzerthaus Berlin in a highly‐anticipated classical music program where Renaud Capuçon brings you the art of Chausson, Strauss, Stravinsky, Ravel and Camille.

Since its founding in 1976 by Claudio Abado, the European Union Youth Orchestra (EUYO) has flown the European flag to demonstrate the musical unity of the continent. Each year the best musicians from the 27 EU countries are selected by audition — and the fantastic result has already brought the Young Euro Classic audience to standing ovations on more than one occasion! This year's programme seems tailor‐made for the EUYO's playing capabilities the French flavour is, of course, provided by the excellent violinist Renaud Capuçon, who will be performing earworm songs by Chausson and Saint‐Saëns. The main work of the evening, conducted by the Spaniard Gustavo Jimeno, is the virtuosic and sensuous suite from Richard Strauss's The Rose Cavalier. And to finish on a high, Ravel's dance poem La Valse. Sparkle is the motto of this concert!
