In the new series 'Willem Brons presents' of the Eusebius Circle Foundation, Willem Brons, the éminence grise among Dutch pianists, introduces audiences to successful former students. This program with Nadezda Filippova gives a wonderful picture of her versatility, giving ample attention to 80‐year‐old Dutch composer Daan Manneke. She also plays Bach's Chaconne, this time not in Busoni's arrangement but in Brahms' much more faithful version. The freshness of Schumann's Papillons and the virtuosity of Paganini Variations (Brahms) are an ode to the vitality of each individual and conclude this evening.
Concert pianist Nadezda Filippova has traveled the world with music, giving concerts from Europe, to the far east in Russia, and the United States. She studied in St. Petersburg and Berlin, but fell in love with Amsterdam and decided to stay here after completing her studies with Willem Brons.
