Werther is the masterpiece of Jules Massenet, who set to music the text by Goethe that has become a symbol of Romanticism.
The tormented love story between young Werther and Charlotte was performed only once at the Philharmonic Theater in 1978: the impassioned and passionate title, among the cornerstones of the French repertoire of all time, will return to the Verona stage after forty‐four years in a recent staging, signed by Stefano Vizioli, Emanuele Sinisi, Anna Maria Heinreich, Imaginraium Creative Studio and produced by OperaLombardia in the months most marked by the pandemic and now finally visible live.
