Vogler, Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra, Järvi: Dresdner Musikfestpiele

About the Event

Antonín Dvořák produced an absolute evergreen in his Concerto for Cello and Orchestra in B‐minor, first performed in London in 1896, of which Brahms is reported to have said: »Why did I not know that one could write a cello concerto like this?« Thus, this work was a must in a festival edition dedicated particularly to the enchantment of the cello! It will be interpreted by Jan Vogler, who has studied the genesis and performance practice of this famous concerto many times and from many perspectives. At the Kulturpalast, he is accompanied by the venerable Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra, which subsequently dedicates itself to Beethoven’s Eighth Symphony – both under the baton of its conductor laureate, Paave Järvi.
