Artists
Orchestra: | Orchestre Helios Established with the aim of forging links between graduating students and professional orchestras, the Orchestre Hélios has gone from strength to strength in the ten years since its 2014 launch. The brainchild of artistic director, Paul Savalle, the orchestra is unusual in its commitment to collaborating with local and regional choral ensembles, expanding its repertoire, which already stretches from the Baroque to the Contemporary, to include major vocal works. The orchestra's musicians are graduates and senior students at France's leading conservatoires, and several also play with national orchestras. A roster of distinguished guest conductors helps accustom members to different styles and approaches to musical leadership. Performing in some of Paris' most majestic churches, including La Madeleine and Saint Sulpice, on a regular basis, the orchestra is designed in such a way that its forces can scale from full symphony down to string quartet, facilitating access to additional beautiful and unusual spaces, many of which are not usually open to the public. |

Violin: | Glen Rouxel The young French violinist won the first prize in the prestigious 'Prix d'Europe' for his vivid and powerful interpretations. In demand as a soloist across Europe, he is also the musical director of the festival Les Détours Métaphoniques (Aveyron). Rouxel is a regular guest with France's finest orchestras and increasingly in demand internationally as well. He has already performed as a soloist at the Philharmonie de Paris and Moscow's Tchaikovsky Hall, among other prestigious venues. |

Amazing experience. I suggest you get the better tickets as seeing the musicians movements/reactions to each other is well worth it. If you don't, you will still have a great show as the accoustics were perfect.

I am positive that wherever in Time and Space Franz Shubert is, he was moved to tears with the way his Ave Maria was performed! The same for all other composers of the music played. In Paris’ oldest church. A highly spiritual evening. SO happy I attended.

I always come to Paris and attend these concerts. Both young talent and venue history, together.

Not too bad, but strangely organised. No intro, nor finish, after an hour an applaus and hup, they were gone. Strange. Was this just a rehearsal for them?

It was a beautiful evening at Saint Germaine Des Pres. So fabulous! What a magnificent place to see a performance. It will be a forever memory for my mother and I on our trip to Paris celebrating her 80th Birthday. ❤️
