About the Event

Seize this opportunity at the beautiful Teatro Ghione in Rome to experience the breathtaking opera performance of Giuseppe Verdi's La Traviata.

In the enchanting Teatro Ghione, in the beating heart of Rome, let yourself be carried away by the sublime voices of opera singers who will lead you by the hand in a timeless story telling you about the love found and then sacrificed between Alfredo and Violetta, in Giuseppe Verdi's celebrated Opera that thrilled the world: La Traviata!
Violetta Valéry, a young Parisian courtesan, for love of Alfredo decides to change her life, leave Paris, its luxuries and transgressions, and move to the countryside.
There the two lovers live happily, but one day Alfredo's father, Germont, arrives: he asks Violetta to leave Alfredo for good because their untoward cohabitation threatens to break up the marriage of his other daughter, Alfredo's sister. Violetta tries to object, but eventually, convinced by Germont, she writes a farewell letter to Alfredo, explaining that she is homesick for Paris and her former life. Alfredo, distraught with anger and isappointment, catches up with her and publicly offends her by throwing money at her feet. Violetta, sick with consumption, is now dying when Alfredo, learning the truth, goes to ask her forgiveness. After seeing him for the last time, Violetta passes away.
