About the Event

Talented singers accompanied by a piano will perform operas by Puccini, Verdi, and Mozart.
Before the concert you can enjoy a dinner at a typical Tuscan restaurant.

About the Venue
Saint Mark's Anglican Church was established in 1881, constructed within a Neo‐Renaissance Medici Palace once owned by Machiavelli. Rather austere in its exterior appearance, the church delights the eye with its rich interior. Ornate Venetian lamps and brass decorations hang from the archway before the grand white marble altar.

Today, the church is an indispensable part of Florence’s cultural life, and a fitting tribute to Italy's national appreciation of arts and culture. It houses an opera company that regularly stages highly popular performances within the church. To see opera and listen to classical music in this church is a unique experience, as its stucture allows the viewers to sit close to the artists, and enjoy the magical atmosphere almost as if they were part of the show.

Please arrive at the concert venue no later than 20 minutes before the performance begins.

Experience such wonderful operas like La Traviata!

La Traviata' is a three‐act opera by Verdi based on Alexandre Dumas' novel 'The Lady with the Camellias' (1852). An opera about “a lady of pleasure” was shocking in the 1850’s, and the opera initailly failed, but went on to become one of the most frequently staged operas in the world. The main character is the courtesan Violetta, and the story traces her love affair with the young Alfredo Germont.

Or hear the wonderful sounds of La Boheme.

Puccini’s opera 'La Boheme' is based on Henri Murger's novel 'Scenes de la Vie de Boheme' (‘Scenes of Bohemian Life’). The plot explores the lives and loves of a group of young bohemians living in Paris in the 1840’s. Its triumphant premiere at Turin’s Teatro Regio in 1896 heralded the arrival of a now indispensable part of the Italian operatic repertoire.

This is the perfect event to get you acquainted with opera music and some of the world's most talented composers!
