About the Event

Be part of one of the most hotly‐anticipated operatic events of the 2019‐20 season. Feted arund the world for his art, Ai Weiwei turns his artist's eye to opera, directing Puccini's setting of a Chinese legend.

Featuring the tenor aria 'Nessun Dorma' made popular by the Three Tenors, the score is replete with orienta themes and harmonies, as Prince Calaf risks his life to solve the riddles of the Princess Turandot and claim her hand. Gregory Kunde and Arsen Soghomonyan sing Calaf during the run, with Anna Pirozzi and Amber Wagner sharing the title role under the baton of Alejo Pérez.
