Ensemble: Trumpets in Concert Vienna

Gernot Kahofer, Manuel Lichtenwöhrer, Leonhard Leeb, trumpets

Trumpets was founded in 1998 by Leonhard Leeb and has earned an excellent international reputation. The international classical music label NAXOS has long since taken notice of the trumpeters, and the British BBC Online Magazine also dedicated an article to them. The classical band plays as elegantly as Cerruti suits was the euphoric statement of a fan. Every stage appearance of the trumpeters from Vienna offers a unique musical experience.
The participation in international festivals has contributed to the excellent reputation of the ensemble. Trumpets performed at the Bregenz Festival, made guest appearances at Proms at St. Jude's in London and performed several times at the International Festival Carinthian Summer, where they also collaborated artistically with the English composer Sir Peter Maxwell Davis . Trumpets was invited twice in a row to provide the musical framework for the inauguration of the Austrian Federal President Dr. Heinz Fischer, which was also broadcast live on Austrian television ORF 2. The CD Imperial Fanfares was released by NAXOS and has been released worldwide. In November 2016 the ensemble went on a major tour of Canada, including a performance at the Austrian Cultural Forum Ottawa. In February 2017 Leonhard Leeb and his excellent ensemble were invited to give concerts in China as part of the International Culture Cooperations. They gave concerts in the concert house in Mianyang and at the 2nd International Music Festival in Deyang. They were invited to perform at the 650th anniversary celebration of the Austrian National Library in the presence of the Federal President and the highest members of the government. The 1200 guests of the International Congress ICOLD Austria 2018 at the Austria Center Vienna were welcomed with swinging, encouraging and imperial splendour. The event in June 2019 '10 Years IST Austria' in the presence of the Federal President Alexander Van der Bellen and Governor Johanna Mikl‐Leitner was given an imperial, extraordinary and highly professional musical setting with trumpets. Their music can be found again and again as soundtracks or on playlists of international cinema and TV films such as 'A Princess to fall in love' or currently in 2019 in the soundtrack 'Glam Girls — Gorgeous spoiled'. With the digital album 'Requiem for my Friend' they were in 4th place in the iTunes Classical Album Charts in Spain. In 2019 their Christmas CD 'Colours of Christmas' was released by Ars Production a very renowned label in the classical music scene: ICMA Label of the Year 2019 | ECHO Klassik | BBC Newcomer Award | OPUS Klassik.
