About the Event

Immerse yourself in the stunning architecture of Berlin's breathtaking Konzerthaus Berlin for the ultimate concert set to awake your understanding of classical music.

This programme pays tribute to never‐forgotten artists of the golden era at the highest level. In his 'Best Of' of swing music, Andrej Hermlin as pianist and bandleader of the Swingin' Hermlins charmingly leads the audience through a concert full of swing music. Thanks to the support of the multi‐talented soloists Rachel and David Hermlin, his band does not fall short of any formation of the swing era. On the contrary, all these names stand for the renaissance that this music is experiencing today. To belong to the Swingin' Hermlins as a musician, one must share the extraordinary passion for the 1940s. The artists' clothes are adapted to the time, the stage equipment is modelled on the famous orchestras. In this way, the ensemble manages to perform authentically and to transport its audience into the years of the 'Chattanooga Choo Choo'. Glenn Miller, Duke Ellington and Benny Goodman are just a few of the greats who come to life in this concert.

Konzerthaus Berlin
The Konzerthaus Berlin is a concert hall situated on the Gendarmenmarkt, the most beautiful square in the city. Built in 1821, the structure initially served as a theater. Severely damaged in the Second World War, it was rebuilt as a concert hall in 1977, with a neoclassical interior, and changed its name to reflect its new function in 1994.
Consistently numbered among the top five concert halls in the world, the Konzerthaus hosts around 500 performances every year, ranging from symphony and chamber concerts featuring international stars to new music and children's concerts.
