The Gonfalone tells its story

About the Event

In this highly‐anticipated concert, hear the mellifluous sounds of chamber music by Antonio Vivaldi and Alessandro Stradella at Rome's treasured and world‐renowned Oratorio del Gonfalone.

The Oratory of the Gonfalone offers a new series of appointments to discover the history of the striking depictions that adorn its Auditorium.
Created during the 16th century, the splendid frescoes were conceived by Jacopo Bertoja, an extraordinary painter originally from Parma, who from 1568 lent his services to the influential Farnese dynasty.
Accompanying the narration by art historian Francesca Macera will be music by Antonio Vivaldi and Alessandro Stradella.
