Immerse yourself in the stunning architecture of Florence's breathtaking Palazzo Corsini al Prato — Fondazione Mascarade Opera for the ultimate concert set to awake your understanding of chamber music.
Latvian‐born Kristīne (violin) and Margarita Balanas (cello) are two of the most exciting and versatile artists of their generation. Known for their outstanding artistry and mesmerising stage presence, the two have quickly earned an international reputation as critically acclaimed soloists in the avant‐garde of classical music. They have astonished audiences with their virtuosic splendour in concert halls such as Carnegie Hall, Laeiszhalle Hamburg, Foundation Louis Vuitton, Royal Festival Hall and Walt Disney Hall. Most recently, they made their debut at the Berlin Philharmonie, performing Brahms' Double Concerto. They also performed at the Festival Radio France Occitanie Montpellier, and in the coming season they are scheduled to perform together at the Cayman Arts Festival, the Emergents Barcelona Music Festival at L'Auditori de Barcelona with the Barcelona Symphony Orchestra, and the Joseph Calleja Charity Gala with the Malta Philharmonic Orchestra.
After the sisters' recital, there will be an exciting additional performance given by their brother Roberts Balanas, a violinist who enjoys a wide range of musical interests and aims to tear down the boundaries between different genres. Combining his background in classical music with the sound worlds of pop, rock and funk, his solo violin arrangements have amassed millions of views across the web.
Practical Information
The ticket gives you access to the Fondazione and Corsini gardens from 6pm, including the offer of a glass of good wine. The concert starts at 7pm
