Teatro dell'Opera di Roma
The Rome Opera (Teatro dell´Opera di Roma) is an opera house in Rome. Built in only 18 months, it was inaugurated in 1880 with a performance of Semiramide by Gioachino Rossini. The theatre is known for its legendary acoustics - the interior structure was constructed as a 'resonance chamber', creating perfect audio-visual conditions for a full musical immersion. Designed by Sfondrini in a horseshoe shape, Annibale Brugnoli adorned the dome with splendid frescoes. The main theater has three tiers of boxes, two separate galleries, an amphitheatre and a seating capacity of 2,212 people.
