George Gershwin and Leonard Bernstein, distinguished figures in 20th century American music, exemplify the unique fusion of sophistication and entertainment that captivated the world. Both hailing from Russian‐Jewish immigrant families, they drew inspiration from a diverse range of influences such as spirituals, ragtime, blues, and jazz. Notably, they also ventured into composing for stage and film, leaving an indelible mark on the industry.

Another prominent figure in this genre is Duke Ellington, who, born only half a year after Gershwin, revolutionized jazz like few others. On the other hand, Iain Farrington, a British artist born in 1977, effortlessly encompasses the laid‐back sound of the Big Band era.
