Summer gala Joyce DiDonato
About the Event
The summer gala is set to be the talk of the town, featuring the renowned London Symphony Orchestra. Adding to the excitement, our esteemed friend Yannick Nézet‐Séguin, chief conductor of the New York Metropolitan Opera, will take the baton and lead the orchestra. A highlight of the evening will be the performance by the incomparable 'Yankee diva' Joyce DiDonato, who will enchant the audience with her orchestral songs by Berlioz. Following this mesmerizing showcase, Tchaikovsky's Sixth Symphony will take center stage. It is worth noting that both Berlioz's songs and Tchaikovsky's symphony evoke the ambiance of the night. These two compositions are a testament to the talent of their respective composers, with Berlioz painting a picture of graves under the full moon and Tchaikovsky's third movement celebrating the lively street parades, illuminated by gas lanterns, in the bustling city.
