The 17th century architectural treasure, Scuola Grande dei Carmini, was built as a school of devotion and charity and headquarters of the Carmelite confraternity. Located in Venice's Dorsoduro Sestiere, the Scuola Grande dei Carmini now hosts music performances. The interior includes a famous series of 18th cenutry ceiling paintings by Giovanni Battista Tiepolo. The flat ceiling on the ground floor holds murals paintings created by Niccolò Bambini and the narrow staircase is decorated with stucco work by Abbondio Stazio and paintings by Sante Piatti.
