    INFO & TICKETS

Boston Symphony Orchestra: Yo Yo Ma Created by star architect Jean Nouvel and opened in January of 2015, the Philharmonie de Paris is a truly innovative facility. The structure is like nothing else in the urban landscape, an organic, crystaline shape rising up from the Parc de la Villette like a mountain.

The location in northeast Paris, close to the Conservatoire national supérieur de musique et de danse, the Zénith and the Grande Halle make La Villette into something of a ‘music quarter’. The location at the edge of the city is an invitation to new audiences from different generations and social backgrounds to attend concerts.

The symphonic hall, known as the Grande Salle, is a remarkable architectural feat. Though it seats 2400 people, the Philharmonie auditorium feels remarkably intimate. The distance between the conductor and the farthest spectator is only 32 meters.

The hall is also equipped with a Rieger organ, 15 meters high and 20 meters wide, specially designed for the symphonic repertory.
