Enjoy beautiful classical music in the medieval Hohensalzburg Fortress (Festung Hohensalzburg). Built in 1077, Hohensalzburg Fortress is the largest, best‐preserved fortress in central Europe. During the 15th and 16th centuries, the Festung Hohensalzburg was enlarged and  the fortress' interior was richly decorated: Gothic wood‐carvings and ornamental paintings garnish the Golden Hall and the Golden Chamber. The view from the Fortress, which can be reached by cable car or a short  climb up the mountain, is breathtaking.
