Special Offer! Honegger's Le Roi David: Oratoire du Louvre

About the Event

The Choeur de Paris and Musici Europae perform Le Roi David by Honegger with wonderful soloists and a moving direction by Till Aly in the sumptuous Oratoire du Louvre in Paris.

For its first concerts of the 2023‐2024 season, the Paris Choir chose to perform a musical masterpiece of the first half of the twentieth century: King David, oratorio by Arthur Honegger (1892‐1955).

King David was first a stage music composed in 1921 for the biblical drama of the Swiss poet René Morax, which recounts the life of David, a shepherd who became king of Israel three thousand years ago.

The Chœur de Paris, directed by Till Aly, will perform this masterpiece with brilliant soloists and an instrumental formation comprising piano, winds, brass and percussion, close to the original version.
