Sound & Science: »Lullabyte«

About the Event

Music has a strong influence on the human brain. Its »somnogen« effects, i.e. music influencing our physiological state and thereby enabling sleep and relaxation, are particularly well‐known – and displayed in lullabies around the world. Yet why does music have such a major influence on our brain that moods or our sleep patterns can be influenced? Since 2019, the project »Lullabyte« has brought together researchers from the fields of neurosciences, psychology, musicology and computer sciences at the TU Dresden to examine these questions. A fascinating insight into this project is offered by »SOUND & SCIENCE« and an eight‐hour sleep concert, which invites us to listen to sounds, to relax, or simply to sleep.
