Serenade on the green

About the Event

This season, the popular afternoon serenade on the green will be conducted for the first time by the new Kreuzchor Cantor Martin Lehmann, who took up this position in September 2022. Born in Malchin, the chorus and orchestra conductor – most recently director of the Windsbach Boys’ Choir for ten years – is well familiar with the popular format and the picturesque backdrop of the serenade concert, as he himself was a member of the Kreuzchor, an institution looking back on more than 800 years of history, from 1983 to 1992. The Kreuzchor’s performance in Pillnitz, which traditionally falls on Whitsunday, has been a fixture on the Dresden Music Festival’s calendar for many years. And so 2023 will once again see the renowned boys’ choir unfold a broad range of musical favourites under an open sky with its customary brilliance.
