About the Event

Experience the awe‐inspiring architecture of the Kulturpalast Dresden and be transported into the world of opera like never before. Delve into the powerful storyline of "Walküre," which follows the aftermath of the fragile power structure of the gods introduced in "Rheingold." Wotan, with his insatiable desire for the ring, seeks a "free man" to further his own interests. He fathers the twins Siegmund and Sieglinde as part of his game for power, who later meet and fall in love. This enrages Wotan's wife, Fricka, leading to Wotan abandoning Siegmund to his fate. Against Wotan's wishes, his beloved daughter, Brünnhilde, stands by the siblings due to their love. The condensed plot of "Walküre" allows the music and the orchestra to reflect the protagonists' emotions and hardships, crafting a world of atmospheric density.
