About the Event
In 2022, our fans were treated to a special performance by the Czech National Symphony Orchestra, dedicated to the iconic film and theatre actor Jean‐Paul Belmondo. The event was a tremendous success, and it reignited our admiration for this legendary actor. As a result, we have decided to revisit our project, Reviens Bébel!, this time as part of the Prague Proms.
Jean‐Paul Belmondo, also known as Bébel, became renowned for his roles as charming adventurers and cynical heroes. He collaborated with esteemed French filmmakers, demonstrating courage and impressive physical abilities by performing risky scenes without the use of stunt doubles. Additionally, he showcased his versatility by taking on psychologically demanding characters. His peers in film included famous actors such as Jean Gabin and Alain Delon, along with the captivating actress Claudia Cardinale.
The concert, taking place at the Smetana Hall of the Municipal House in Prague, invites attendees to enjoy the most beloved film melodies associated with the one‐and‐only Bébel. Conducted by Marcello Rota from Italy, the program will feature music from popular films like Hold‐Up, Cop or Hood, That Man from Rio, Breathless, and Le Magnifique.
