About the Event

The Nordic Brass Ensemble (NBE) was formed in 1993 by leading wind instrumentalists from top Scandinavian symphony orchestras. Since its inception, the group has dedicated itself to exploring and combining the unique characteristics of the instruments at its disposal, allowing them to constantly shape their sound in innovative ways. They have an extensive repertoire ranging from the Renaissance to contemporary works, all presented in exclusive arrangements.

The ensemble's highly praised album, European Tour (2016), is centered around Renaissance and Early Baroque music. In addition to regular performances throughout Scandinavia, the NBE has recently embarked on tours of Germany, Italy, Austria, Spain, and South America. This time, members from the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic Orchestra, Oslo Philharmonic, Norwegian National Opera Orchestra, Trondheim Symphony Orchestra, and Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra will showcase their artistry at the Church of Saints Simon and Jude for the Prague Proms. The program will feature compositions from the aforementioned European Tour album.
