About the Event

This production of Rameau’s 'Platée', by stage director Laurent Pelly and conductor Marc Minkowski, is a classic of the Paris Opera repertoire. This season, the comic opera returns with a completely new cast.

Written for the wedding of King Louis XV and the “Infanta” Maria Theresa, Rameau poked fun at the royal couple in his version of the mythic tale of a less‐than‐lovely nymph.

Sung in French, with English and French surtitles.
