Enjoy an unforgettable concert with the legendary tenor Plácido Domingo at the 25th Peralada Festival.

The first concerts at the Castell de Peralada International Music Festival took place in 1987 and since then it has been held, without exception, during the months of July and August at the historical venue of Castillo de Peralada. In 1992, it became part of the select European Festivals Association (EFA), which underlined it as a high‐quality festival on a par with other important festivals such as Bayreuth, Berlin, Florence and Salzburg. The Castell de Peralada Festival showcases recitals by famous singers, symphony and choir concerts, operas, musical theatre, dance, jazz, pop, chamber music concerts and family‐orientated performances.

One of the greatest tenors of all time, Plácido Domingo is also celebrating his 70th birthday at the Peralada Castle Gardens Auditorium. His extraordinary voice especially is suited for a selection of the opera and zarzuela arias and duets that have played a part in his career. He will be performing together with the young soprano Virginia Tola. Accompanied by the Orquestra de la Comunitat Valenciana – from the Palau de las Arts Reina Sofía – and conducted by David Giménez Carreras, the Plácido Domingo concert is one not to be missed on these summer evenings.

The festival actively supports Spanish composers and artists and commissions projects and musical scores with the aim of enriching the cultural variety on offer in Spain. At the same time, soloists and prestigious international ensembles from different artistic fields are invited to take part. This philosophy has allowed Peralada to enjoy a widespread fame and has positioned the festival as one of the most important cultural events in Spain during the summer period.
