Piano Recital Seong‐Jin Cho at Palais im Großen Garten

About the Event

Seong‐Jin Cho, the immensely talented pianist from South Korea, has firmly established himself among the elite artists in the piano world after achieving great success at the Chopin Competition in 2015. Now based in Berlin, Cho, who began playing the piano at the age of six and made his public debut at eleven, received the prestigious title of the world's most popular pianist in an online poll conducted by the Universal Music Group. Despite enjoying almost pop star‐like fame in his homeland, Cho remains unimpressed, focusing instead on his genuine and captivating performances, untainted by any form of affectation. For his upcoming solo recital in Dresden, Cho has carefully selected Ravel's iconic masterpiece "Gaspard de la nuit," a fundamental work in 20th‐century piano repertoire, alongside two lesser‐known compositions by French Impressionists. The evening will be rounded out by Liszt's enchanting music from the second volume of his "Années de pèlerinage," promising a truly unforgettable and intimate piano experience within the exquisite setting of the Palais im Großen Garten.
