Philippe Herreweghe together with Andreas Brantelid, a Danish cellist of strong and often transgressive interpretative personality, offers a surprising and 'radical' vision of Haydn's First Cello Concerto. He is followed in this 'classicist' itinerary by his Orchestre des Champs‐Elysées, founded in 1991 with the specific aim of restoring the 'authentic' interpretation of the music of the second half of the 18th century, and which over the years has broadened its horizon to include the entire span of the 19th century, from Beethoven to Bruckner.
