Opening Concert: Prague Symphony Orchestra

About the Event

When a new chief conductor opens a new season, the event is guaranteed to be festive and memorable. For the opening of the Prague Symphony Orchestra season, the program perfectly matches the personality of Finnish conductor Pietari Inkinen.

The concert features Finnish and Czech music, and there is a unifying American thread as well: Martinů's Violin Concerto No. 1 remained forgotten until 1968, when the manuscript was found in Washington. The Chicago Symphony Orchestra under Georg Solti performed its world premiere.

The concerts are held under the auspices of H. E. Helena Tuuri, the Ambassador of Finland to the Czech Republic.
