noisenight158: shunya + dudù kouate + seb rochford
London, Village Underground — Main Atrium
About the Event
Experience the stunning architecture of London's Village Underground for a unique jazz concert that will broaden your musical horizons. Multi‐instrumentalist Shunya, iconic jazz drummer Seb Rochford, and Senegalese percussionist Dudù Kouate come together for an improvised show that promises to be unforgettable.
Shunya (also known as Alan Keary), Seb Rochford, and Dudù Kouate are each renowned artists in their own right. Shunya blends distorted violins and drum machines to create his unique sound, while Seb Rochford experiments with solo drum sets when not collaborating with Brian Eno. Dudù Kouate, on the other hand, invents new instruments when not performing with the Art Ensemble of Chicago, showcasing his creativity and talent.
This concert will showcase the individuality of each musician through improvisation and reinterpretations of their original songs. Expect a fusion of electronic music, free jazz, meditative soundscapes, contemporary classical compositions, and West African rhythms that will transport you to new musical dimensions.
Hailing from Manchester, Alan Keary is a multi‐talented musician and producer with a rich musical background. Performing as Shunya, his music is a blend of classical violin, jazz bass, and the electronic sounds of Manchester's music scene, creating a truly unique and captivating sound.
