Mozart's Requiem at Salvator Church

About the Event

Experience an unforgettable event at Salvator Church in Prague's Old Town Square. Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart's Requiem, composed in Vienna in 1791, remains a poignant reminder of the composer's unfinished masterpiece. Initially commissioned by an anonymous individual, later revealed to be a servant of Count Franz von Walsegg‐Stuppach, the Requiem was intended to be passed off as the nobleman's own tribute to his late wife. Tragically, Mozart succumbed to illness in the midst of composing the Requiem, leaving behind a hauntingly beautiful and incomplete work.
