Discover the wonderful music of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart and the Strauss family in the unique halls of the Vienna Hofburg and the Vienna Konzerthaus.
The world‐famous melodies of Mozart and waltzes of Strauss have their origins in Vienna. They are as much a part of this beautiful city as St. Stephen's Cathedral or the Heuriger and are its cultural heritage and landmark at the same time.
From May to October, the Vienna Hofburg Orchestra performs classical concerts with the most famous works by Josef and Johann Strauss, as well as Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. It also performs lively opera and operetta arias, as well as duets by Emmerich Kálmán and Franz Lehár. The orchestra accompanies internationally renowned opera singers and ballet soloists from Vienna's popular opera houses.
Just as Johann Strauss intended, and in keeping with the tradition of all great Viennese orchestras, the musicians have prepared some musical jokes to delight the audience anew each evening!
The SUPERIOR category includes the best seats, a programme booklet and a music CD of the Vienna Hofburg Orchestra and is only available from May to October.
Practical Information
Duration: approx. 90 minutes
The venue is barrier‐free. Please inform us when booking if you need help for wheelchair users.
Formal evening dress is not required, but we recommend attire suited to the elegant atmosphere of the Vienna Imperial Palace.
The concerts of the Vienna Hofburg Orchestra are mostly held in the Hofburg, in the Festival Hall or Ceremonial Hall. Other venues include the Konzerthaus and the Liechtenstein Garden Palace.
Cast / Production
The Vienna Hofburg Orchestra consists of up to 40 musicians and is accompanied by internationally renowned opera singers and classical ballet from Vienna's opera houses.
