Misa Tango at Philharmonie Berlin
Berlin, Philharmonie Berlin — Grosser Saal
About the Event
Experience the soundscapes of Tango Nuevo with the compositions of the Argentinian bandoneon player bandoneon player Omar Massa, who is regarded as the successor to his master Astor Piazzolla, followed by the performance of the celebrated Misa a Buenos Aires by Martín Palmerij by the Karl Forster Choir together with the Berlin Symphony Orchestra.
The focus is on Martín Palmerij's “Misa a Buenos Aires”, a modern mass that wonderfully combines elements from sacred traditions and Argentinian tango nuevo. And the composer himself sits at the piano. An unforgettable tango moment!
The boundary between sacred and secular music has always been fluid. In “Misa a Buenos Aires”, this interplay is particularly palpable because it transcends conventional musical categories: the tango, once considered lascivious and profane, blends with sacred mass composition in Latin!
The evening promises breathtaking variety, combining the dynamic interplay of choir and orchestra with the unique sounds of the bandoneon and the passionate rhythms of the tango.
The “Misa a Buenos Aires” will be presented in all its splendor. Performed by the Berlin Symphony Orchestra and the Karl Forster Choir, the performance will unfold an impressive strength both musically and emotionally. Join us for this extraordinary concert and experience the powerful fusion performed by some of Berlin's finest musicians.
