Meet Alma — Alma Deutscher at the Konzerthaus Vienna
Vienna, Wiener Musikverein — Brahms Saal
About the Event
In this highly‐anticipated concert, hear the mellifluous sounds of classical music by Johann Strauss and Alma Deutscher at Vienna's treasured and world‐renowned Wiener Konzerthaus.
Alma Deutscher, the celebrated composer, violinist and pianist, will present — for the first time in Vienna also as a conductor — a promenade concert with her own works as well as favorites of Viennese classical music. The program will focus on highlights from Deutscher's new opera 'Des Kaisers neue Walzer,' which premiered in Salzburg in March of this year and is now being presented to Viennese audiences for the first time.
Alma Deutscher (b. 2005) began playing the piano at age two and the violin at age three. At the age of six, she composed her first complete piano sonata. This was followed by a violin concerto and a piano concerto, which she performed as a soloist with orchestras around the world, including her sold‐out debut at Carnegie Hall in New York in 2019. Her first full‐length opera, Cinderella, premiered in Vienna when she was 11 years old and attracted the attention of audiences and press worldwide. Her music has been released on several CDs and DVDs, including by the Vienna State Opera and Sony Classical.
