Masramon, Höbarth, Schlichtig & Richter at Palau de la Música Catalana

About the Event

In this highly‐anticipated concert, hear the mellifluous sounds of chamber music by Mozart, Brahms and Turina at Barcelona's treasured and world‐renowned Palau de la Música Catalana.

Erich Höbarth (violin), Hariolf Schlichtig (viola) and Christoph Richter (cello) are among the most renowned soloists in Europe. All musicians come from leading European music ensembles and have a parallel project with music greats such as András Schiff, with whom they have been playing all over the world for more than twenty years.
Laia Masramon is one of the most important pianists in the country, performing more and more frequently at the Palau de la Música Catalana. Masramon, Höbart, Schlichtig and Richter have created this quartet and have been invited to concert halls such as the Auditori in Barcelona, the Palau de la Música Catalana and the Kartause Festival Ittingen in Switzerland.
The project draws on the entirety of Brahms' piano quartets to explore the Romantic composer's chamber music catalog in this and upcoming seasons. This year it is the turn of the Piano Quartet No. 2 in A major, op. 26, and the program is rounded out by Mozart and Turina.
