The symphonic works of Gustav Mahler are the focus of the 'Mahler Festival 2023', because it was in Leipzig that Mahler became the person we know today: the composer of fascinating symphonies. Leipzig and the Gewandhaus Orchestra promise a uniquely authentic Myung‐Whun Chungsetting for the festival, as Mahler spent two years of his life here and conducted the Gewandhaus Orchestra almost daily.
