Jordi Savall is one of the visionary and ground‐breaking musician personalities of our times with passion, investigative zeal and a brilliant instinct for sound, he has enlivened the field of ancient music with unique projects. Born in 1941, the Catalan and »EU Ambassador for Cultural Dialogue« returns to the Dresden Music Festival to perform Beethoven’s »Missa solemnis«. Together with his two ensembles, Le Concert des Nations and La Capella Nacional de Catalunya, and first‐rate soloists, Savall invites the audience to cast a fresh and authentic eye on this famous work by the great composer of the First Viennese School. Performing on historical instruments, the musicians make Beethoven’s moving sound world shimmer in all its nuances.
