About the Event

Ravel's deeply emotional yet sparkling Piano Concerto in G major is reminiscent of a collection of impressionistic fragments; in the composer’s own words, the work consists of little pieces reflecting the spirit of Mozart and Saint‐Saëns.

With Haochen Zhang at the piano, the concerto is sure to ring with life and optimism.

The film score of Cloud Atlas is as grand as the film itself, depicting such evocative images as interweaving clouds and the powerful Greek god Atlas. This multimedia presentation will bring it all together for an exciting evening.

Kristjan Järvi, with his endless energy on the stage, has been hailed by the New York Times as the new Bernstein--be there to witness this collaboration between Järvi and the Shanghai Symphony Orchestra.
