Jerome Robbins: Opéra National de Paris

About the Event

The Paris Opera Ballet presents a 'Tribute to Jerome Robbins', with three of the legendary American choreographer's works on music by Ravel and Chopin at the Palais Garnier.

Jerome Robbins, George Balanchine's long‐time fellow traveller and choreographer of West Side Story, considered the Paris Opera Ballet to be his second 'maison' after New York City Ballet. In return, the company knew how to interpret his unique style. Three works bring out the diversity of his repertoire, his passion for music and his ability to capture and translate human behaviour. To the jazzy tones of Maurice Ravel, En Sol is a warm and whimsical nod to the Broadway musical. Jerome Robbins' In The Night bathes in the poetic world of Chopin to portray the feelings of three couples at three different moments in a loving relationship. Robbins then draws inspiration from the very same Chopin to direct a succession of comical situations in The Concert.

Enjoy this exciting and varied dance performance in the festive atmosphere of the Palais Garnier in Paris.
