Meet a shooting star of the music world as he makes his first appearance at Carnegie Hall. Hailed by critics and colleagues the world over as 'the future of music', the young Russian pianist's debut is an event not to be missed.

Opening his program with a trio of Shostakovich Prelude and Fugues, Levit then plays the US premiere of Frederic Rzewski's 'Dreams, Part II', a new work commissioned by Carnegie Hall. Beethoven's extraordinary 'Diabelli' Variations provide an epic second half, running the gamut from deceptive simplicity to fiendish virtuosity, and from the comic to deepest tragedy.
