Haydn: Die Schöpfung at Festspielhaus Baden‐Baden
Baden‐Baden, Festspielhaus Baden‐Baden
About the Event
Light and joy in a gray November: The Balthasar Neumann Choir celebrates its debut at the 2024 Autumn Festival with Haydn's magnificent 'Creation'. Today, we can hardly imagine the success that 'The Creation' enjoyed in Haydn's time. The enthusiasm for this 'oratorio of all oratorios' has been passed down from generation to generation ever since. The most famous passage from the work? 'And God said: Let there be light!' The C major that Joseph Haydn lets shine after this announcement sounds like the most beautiful protest against all darkness, all blackness, all quarrelling with the ways of the world. A celebration — for the Balthasar Neumann Ensembles as well as for the audience.
