About the Event

Giacomo Menegardi, a 23‐year‐old artist and recent winner of the Venice Prize, has a deep connection with the piano. He recalls his love for the instrument starting at a young age when his parents introduced him to Mozart's Turkish March. This early exposure ignited a passion for the piano that has remained with him ever since.

Starting his studies at the age of six in Belluno and later attending the Conservatory in Castelfranco Veneto, Menegardi has garnered recognition by winning numerous awards in competitions. Now at the beginning of what looks to be a promising career, he showcases his talent in Bologna with a program that expertly blends classical compositions from the 19th century with the modern symbolism of the 20th century.

Program

  • Claude Debussy – Estampes
  • Franz Liszt – Après une lecture du Dante, fantasia quasi sonata, nr. 7 (uit 'Années de pèlerinage, deuxième année, Italie')
  • Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy – Fantasy in F sharp minor op.28
  • Sergei Vasilievich Rachmaninoff – Etudes‐Tableaux op.39 n.1, n.2, n.5
