Génisson, Insula Orchestra, Equilbey at Frauenkirche Dresden

About the Event

Founded by the conductor Laurence Equilbey in 2012, the Insula orchestra from France is a young, highly successful ensemble dedicated to historically informed performance practice. Having caused a stir on international concert stages, it now appears at the Frauenkirche in Dresden. Since 2017 it has been orchestra in residence at the new cultural centre La Seine Musicale in Paris. For its Dresden Music Festival debut, it remains true to its core repertoire, music from the classical and romantic era, playing three works by Mozart: the overture to the opera »La clemenza di Tito«, the Symphony No. 39 and the famous Clarinet Concerto in A‐major. The soloist in this impressive work is the celebrated French clarinettist Pierre Génisson.
