Folk Unplugged: The Fugitives with Annie Dressner

About the Event

Conway Hall features Canadian folk‐roots collective The Fugitives and rising star Annie Dresner for the summer’s final Folk Unplugged. The Fugitives, led by songwriters Adrian Glynn and Brendan McLeod, are joined by banjo player Chris Suen and violinist Carly Frey. Known for unforgettable live shows, complex harmonies, and top‐notch musicianship, the band has earned critical acclaim. Their latest album No Help Coming addresses the climate emergency, blending cautionary themes with uplifting melodies.

Annie Dresner, born and raised in NYC, began her musical journey on the night of her high school graduation. Inspired by iconic musicians like Simon & Garfunkel and Carly Simon, she crafts mesmerizing melodies and rich storytelling. While now calling Cambridge home, Annie's music retains a unique NYC flair and a contemporary freshness. Drawing inspiration from her own experiences, she navigates the world, discovering her true emotions through her music. Some songs are personal reflections, while others are inspired by the stories of those around her.
