About the Event

Join our former Artist in Residence, pianist and composer Fazıl Say, on a deeply personal journey through his native Turkey in this issue of Klazzik. In the course of it, he traces connections to the people, places and verses that have made him who he is today. In 'Dört Şehir,' Fazil Say undertakes an expedition through four Anatolian cities whose rich historical and cultural backgrounds appear in the mirror of his own memories. The approaching waves and dramatic interjections of 'Yeni Hayat' ('New Life') echo the Corona pandemic during which he composed the piece. Finally, singer Serenad Bağcan takes the stage with 'İlk Şarkılar' — songs featuring some of Turkey's most beloved poets.
