About the Event

Celebrate Verdi's final comic masterpiece at the Paris Opera: Falstaff tells the story of an old, penniless, and pot‐bellied knight.

Giuseppe Verdi was 80 years old when he wrote Falstaff, and his composition was leisurely and liberated from the rules. Arias, duets, and ensembles join together in a singular musical movement, continuous and boisterous. The work is an unsurpassed operatic comedy and continues to offer the gift of joyous laughter a century later.
