In this highly‐anticipated concert, hea masterworks of music at Bologna's atmospheric Basilica dei Santi Bartolomeo e Gaetano.
Francesco Cera, together with his Ensemble Arte Musica, places at the center of his interpretive work the Responsoria composed by Carlo Gesualdo da Venosa for the Ufficio delle Tenebre, a masterpiece given to print in 1611 and intended to be performed during Holy Week. In this unprecedented Passion of Christ, the evocative power of the Gospel story is fully blended with the changing expressive intensity of Gesualdo's responsories.
