Enigma Variations: Konserthuset Stockholm

About the Event

Meet a rapidly‐rising star in the conducting firmament. Andrey Boreyko conducts Elgar's popular 'Enigma Variations' and Victoria Borisova‐Ollas' 'Angelus' at the head of the Royal Stockholm Philharmonic.

Stockholm‐resident Borisova‐Ollas' works have been gaining increasing traction with orchestras across the world, and her 'Angelus' was written for the Munich Philharmonic's celebration of the city's 850th anniversary. The voices of several of the city's great bells can be heard, as can the voices — and idiosyncratic personalities — of several of Elgar's friends and acquaintances in the 'Enigma Variations' which started life as a work of satire!
