About the Event

Experience the awe‐inspiring architecture of the Kulturpalast Dresden as you immerse yourself in a concert that will awaken your appreciation for classical music. This breathtaking venue sets the stage for a truly extraordinary musical experience.

Few topics are as pressing and globally relevant as climate change, and few individuals tackle it with the expertise and nuance demonstrated by Prof. Dr. Harald Lesch. As an astrophysicist, non‐fiction author, science journalist, and television presenter, Dr. Lesch has been dedicated to climate protection for years. In his program 'The Four Seasons in Climate Change,' he joins forces with the Merlin Ensemble Vienna to explore Antonio Vivaldi's iconic composition alongside his highly informative narration. This collaborative effort creates a completely new and captivating work of art.

The program itself takes audiences on a musical‐scientific journey through time, from the formation of the Earth and its seasons to the current challenges of climate change. Vivaldi's renowned 'The Four Seasons' concertos for violin, strings, and basso continuo, as well as his Sinfonia 'Al Santo Sepolcro' in B minor, will be performed. With the generous support of Sparkassen‐Versicherung Sachsen, this concert promises to be an unforgettable experience.
